Patsy Brison Hilton Head Island

Dear Ward 2 Neighbors,

Thank you.

I look forward to serving Ward 2 and the entire community as a member of the Town Council. I value what I learned from the community while on the campaign trail and will continue to listen and learn.

I want especially to thank my opponent, Stephen Arnold, for his engagement in a civil campaign, focusing on issues important to our community. I look forward to working with him and hope that he will continue to stay involved in service to our community.

I greatly appreciate the confidence you, the voters, have placed in me.

Sincerely,

Patsy Brison, Your Ward 2 Town Council Member

Patsy & Scott at St. Andrews, 2022

ABOUT PATSY

Growing up in Gastonia, North Carolina, Patsy learned the value of a dollar at a young age, raised in family-owned businesses of real estate and construction, and child care. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies, and then received her J.D. (Law) degree from Campbell University in North Carolina. Patsy had a successful 31-year-long career as an attorney in North Carolina, both in the public sector, as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Asheville, North Carolina, and in private practice as a partner in a regional law firm.

Her experiences included working on public-private partnerships in the redevelopment of downtown Asheville and representing neighborhoods in local government issues. As retirement neared, she and her husband Scott Camp of 16 years, looked to their favorite vacation place to set up permanent residency, Hilton Head Island. They had previously owned property on the Island, they knew what it meant to "live like a local," and knew there was no better place to retire and reside.

Patsy quickly became immersed in Town matters, including the Board of Zoning Appeals, Bike Walk, church activities, and founding an Island-Wide Coalition for full-time residents, known as COIN. In 2021, Patsy and Scott decided the vacation villa on the South End of the Island wasn't conducive space-wise to their love of hosting parties, playing music on Scott’s grand piano, and living the golf lifestyle. They knew they wanted to be in a residential community that offered amenities of walking trails, golf course living, and a sense of true neighborhood, all offered in Hilton Head Plantation!

Patsy looks forward to serving the Ward 2 community and believes a steady voice for full-time residents is essential to a balanced way of life for the Island. As a retiree, Patsy is always available to the residents of Ward 2 - you can reach her at patsybrison4towncouncil@gmail.com or 828.230.2551 or find her and Scott at Bear Creek Golf Club!
